Beaulieu and Beaulieu Rails Roll of Honour

The Roll of Honour for Beaulieu and Beaulieu Rails (the original name for East Boldre) details the names of those who served or volunteered in WW1. Local people will recognise the family names which are still common in the village.

It was probably made by a local sign writer and placed in a prominent position, probably in Beaulieu Abbey Church but, as you can see from the photo, it has suffered years of neglect. In fact, it was discovered in Beaulieu Mill in the aftermath of the fire in 2006 which gutted the mill. Some of the names have become illegible but many can still be read on the larger photo and transcription.

The board, now resides in the SOE Museum at Beaulieu.
