EAST BOLDRE PARISH COUNCIL

 

Minutes of the meeting of the Parish Council held on 6th May, 2008 at 7.30 p.m. In East Boldre Village Hall.

Letter from Mr. Boyd regarding litter in the parish - Cllr. Sparks requested a copy.

To receive a report by County Councillor Boldre

Cllr. Thornber detailed the necessity of insuring the correct positioning of the SLR to gain maximum benefit and encouraged the Council to consider the best positions for East Boldre. Council to consider and report back. Beaulieu is to be the holding Council for the SLR;

Andy Dovey of that Parish is an approved contractor and would be available to re-locate the SLR as necessary.

East Boldre is one of the villages to be considered in the next round for 30 mph. speed limit throughout the village.

Cllr. Thornber informed Council that he is to award a grant of £2,000.00 to the School Fields Trust.

To receive a report by District Councillor

Cllr. Vickers clarified the point that he had given a grant to Bright Sparks. Suggested Clerk contact the East Boldre Football Club and request that Bright Sparks be able to use the football pitch at certain times.

A similar grant to that made to Bright Sparks could be available for School Fields Trust and Cllr. Surplice was requested to send a letter stating what was required.    

The N.F.D.C., audit had been completed and Cllr. Vickers was pleased to announce that  they were within the top 17 in the country.

Amenities committee to investigate the possibility of finding land for a playground at the hall end of the village.

To receive the report of the Planning and Highways Committee

 

 

 

13.1

Planning

Mrs. Hunt had sent her thanks to Council for their support in her application.

 

 

 

 

13.2

Highways           

East Boldre village sign had been installed on the south side of the village.

 

13.3

Cripplegate Lane sign had not yet been re-erected.

 

13.4

Increasing problem of potholes in the parish must be resolved. Council to identify problem areas and make a list for Cllr. Thornber.

To receive the report of the Amenities Committee

 

14.1

A notice on the Allotments entrance needs to be erected to state that it was only for allotment holders to ensure the allotments are covered for insurance purposes.

A draft contract had been received, to be perused and signed.

17.1

The parish website was discussed and it was felt that a focus group needed to be formed in order to ensure that the website was kept up to date and offered maximum

information to the parish. This to be done a few weeks after the publication of the newsletter. It is hoped to publish the newsletter electronically in the future - e.mail addresses to be requested in the next newsletter.

The necessity for planning permission for sheds on allotments was raised, the Clerk suggested a blanket planning application might be possible, Clerk to request information from the N.P.A. planning department.
