EAST BOLDRE ALLOTMENT ASSOCIATION
Since our last report we are pleased to tell you that the Parish Council has now
taken over the responsibility of running the allotments but the Association is still
active in order to continue our membership to the NSALG, to maintain the inner rabbit
fences which are our responsibility and to take advantage of the Kings Seeds offers
-
An active Allotment Association will benefit us all so if anyone is interested in becoming a committee member or anyone has any spare time to help then we would be delighted to hear from them.
Another standpipe has been connected in Allotments No. 1 next to the Turfcutters so that plotholders at the bottom end of the site can access water more easily.
We have had a fairly good harvest of most things this year because although the weather
has been changeable we have not had the constant rain of last year and no prolonged
dry spells so we should all have good full freezers. The downside has been the constant
battle with the weeds and multitudes of cabbage white butterflies -
If anyone is having difficulty in maintaining their allotment because it is too large, the Parish Council need to know and a simple telephone call to let them know could save you days of agonising. Anyone wanting more information about the allotments should now contact Christine Howe, the Parish Clerk of East Boldre.
